Professional Development that Means Something

The Ukulele Method

What if it were possible to teach academic content as a physical skill like playing the ukulele?

That’s the guiding question behind the Ukulele Method, a facilitator-led professional development experience that reveals how clear routines, joyful practice, and embodiment support learning for all students—and it ends with a group musical performance!

And did we mention…?

Everyone learns the ukulele!

How Does It Work?

Most people think learning the ukulele is impossible. But it’s not. It’s just new. Like how everything our students experience is something new!

Using a live ukulele lesson (for all participants!) as a case study, we put entire faculties in the place of students learning something new for the first time (plus some students who already know how to play… and that’s important too!)

One 90-minute session makes visible how teachers can leverage embodied practice in their classrooms to reinforce student autonomy, confidence, and joyful mastery as essential conditions for learning – across content!

Who’s It For?

If you’re looking for Professional Development that renews your sense of wonder at teaching, infuses joy into your staff, and leaves you with concrete practices that are immediately useful in the classroom, then the Ukulele Method is for you.
