Yes. I’m a pioneer.
Just look at the denim shirt.
No. But seriously…

There’s uncharted territory in the realm of corporate team-building, and it’s music education. Everybody on your team wishes they could play an instrument. I can make that happen.

Half of your team is too cool to do trust falls.
But no one is too cool to play the guitar.
(Well… ukulele, same thing).

Which is good news because I teach the ukulele to large corporations for my job.

I’m Matthew. Hi. Here’s how this all happened.

I learned to teach sitting at the dinner table listening to my mom tell stories about her preschool classroom. She would do all the voices of the kids and talk about “their little brains” and how they learn.

When I eventually started teaching middle schoolers (quite by accident), I just did what mom did. Turns out, people learn like people, doesn’t matter if they’re four or fourteen (or forty-four, as you’ll see).

You set the expectation, you break down the procedure, you communicate the criteria for success, and then you lead the practice. It’s just that simple.

Applying those principles to music classrooms teaching ukulele got the attention of FACTS Management in 2023, and I ended up winning the FACTS Innovation Award that year for my methodology.

It was cool. Then came the (perhaps ridiculous?) opportunity to teach a lesson for a large company—instead of them hiring an actual motivational team builder—for their yearly sales summit. And may I say, we knocked it out of the park. And now we’re here. Welcome.
